“What Would You Do? A Choose Your Own Lactation Adventure” is an interactive in-person mini-conference on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 8:30 am -3:30 pm. Registration is $50 and will be held at Peoria City/County Health Department in the Community Room. Registration will close on April 11, 2026 at 5 pm.
There will be no virtual option or recording this year. IBCLC and RN continuing education credits have been applied for.
This mini-conference will appeal to anyone who supports families that are providing human milk. Emphasis will be placed on the services provided from different organizations and health care providers in the community, from the home to the physician’s office. This will be an opportunity for participants to grow their referral network and further understand the services available in the community. We are excited to welcome our guest speaker: Trish Wierenga, APRN, FNP-BC, IBCLC, PMH-C.
Topics being presented include: Breastfeeding Fundamentals, Five-minute Breastfeeding Evaluation, Lactation Management Strategies, Oral Function and Anatomy, Referral Considerations, Perinatal Mental Health.
Lunch will be provided by One World Catering with gluten free and plant-based options available (cross contamination may occur). In-person registration will close on Friday, April 10 at 5 pm.
